Free flu and COVID-19 shots will be available at the Government Services Center on Westtown Road in West Chester starting Monday, Sept. 14, the Chester County Health Department announced.
The clinic at 601 Westtown Road runs through Friday, Dec. 18, with days and hours that vary. Walk-ins are welcome. Residents can also book appointments online at chesco.org/fallvaccines or by calling 610-344-6225.
Both flu and COVID-19 vaccines are offered at every session. Uninsured residents pay nothing. Those with insurance owe no copay, according to the health department, as reported by the Chesco Times.
"We want every Chester County resident to have easy access to recommended vaccines," Jeanne Franklin, director of the Chester County Health Department, said in a Tuesday, Sept. 8, statement. Franklin added that the community clinics make it convenient to get protected before respiratory virus season begins.
The Westtown Road location also hosts a one-day community clinic on Monday, Oct. 26, from 3 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
Beyond West Chester, the county has scheduled pop-up clinics across the region this fall:
- Sept. 24 — Great Valley Middle School, Malvern, 3:15–6:45 p.m.
- Oct. 5 — Coatesville Area Public Library, 1–5:15 p.m.
- Oct. 8 — Unionville High School, Kennett Square, 3:15–6:45 p.m.
- Oct. 14 — Honey Brook Food Pantry, 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
- Oct. 15 — Kennett Middle School, Landenberg, 3–6:45 p.m.
- Oct. 17 — Avon Grove Church of the Nazarene, West Grove, 10 a.m.–12:45 p.m.
- Oct. 22 — Owen J Roberts Middle School, Pottstown, 4:15–6:45 p.m.
- Oct. 28 — Honey Brook Food Pantry, 4–5:30 p.m.
- Oct. 29 — Mighty Writers, Toughkenamon, 3:15–5:45 p.m. (new site)
- Nov. 5 — Oxford Senior Center, Oxford, 10:30 a.m.–3 p.m. (new site)
Residents who cannot make a clinic date can get vaccinated at their doctor's office or a local pharmacy, the health department said. Check chesco.org/fallvaccines for the West Chester clinic's specific hours.
