The American Helicopter Museum in West Chester hosts Girls in Aviation Day on Sept. 19, featuring hands-on STEM activities and a career panel with aviation professionals.

The annual event, part of the museum's Girls in Science and Technology (GIST) program, runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1220 American Blvd. GIST pairs girls in grades 4 through 12 with female college students in STEM fields for mentorship, according to the museum.

Students will explore aviation companies and organizations, try hands-on activities and hear professionals discuss career paths in aviation and aerospace engineering, according to the event listing.

Tickets cost $15 for adults, $14 for children 2 and older or seniors and students with ID, and $13 for veterans. Museum members and children under 2 get in free. Admission includes access to the full museum collection for the day.
