Chester County health inspectors flagged 7 Brew Coffee at 829 Paoli Pike in West Chester with four violations during an opening inspection on Monday, Oct. 26. None were corrected on-site.

The drive-through coffee chain's new location was one of 10 food facilities inspected that day, according to MyChesCo. Great Valley Senior High School's cafeteria in Malvern also drew violations. Eight other establishments passed.

What inspectors found at 7 Brew

The Chester County Health Department directed 7 Brew to reverse the arrangement of its three-compartment dishwashing sink. Inspectors said the current setup risked contamination from a rapid-rinser sprayer and other food service activities.

The shop also needs to install beveled base coving where floors meet walls in food service and restroom areas. Inspectors noted a missing hook above the mop sink for hanging mops to dry and said the business must display its Chester County Certified Food Manager Certificate in public view.

The inspection report did not list any of the four violations as corrected during the visit.

Great Valley Senior High draws six

At Great Valley Senior High School, 225 N. Phoenixville Pike in Malvern, inspectors found six violations in the cafeteria, including uncovered bowls and trays in dry storage, buildup inside an ice machine, dented cans, missing paper towels at both handwashing sinks, a broken light and dirty floors behind kitchen equipment. Staff corrected two violations on the spot by discarding the cans and restocking towels.

Eight facilities pass

Among the West Chester-area facilities listed in compliance: Carlino's Specialty Foods and Catering at 128 W. Market St., A Season Chef at WC Growers FM on North Church Street and Marshallton United Methodist Church on West Strasburg Road.
