Chester County health inspectors found leaking drain lines, missing soap at handwashing sinks and dirty equipment at Two Fish and Five Loaves Community Café during a Monday inspection of the East Miner Street nonprofit restaurant.
The café, located on the first floor of the Charles A. Melton Arts & Education Center at 501 E. Miner St., was one of six food facilities cited countywide that day, according to inspection results published Tuesday by MyChesCo.com reporter Maryann Pugh.
Inspectors ordered the café to provide soap and paper towels at all handwashing sinks and to clean cookware, preparation shelving, a floor drain, storage areas and the microwave. They also documented leaking drain lines at both the food preparation sink and the hand sink.
A plumber was scheduled to address the plumbing problems on Tuesday.
Two Fish and Five Loaves is a faith-based 501(c)(3) that serves meals at reduced or no cost to underserved residents, including seniors, returning citizens and economically disadvantaged families. The café also houses a culinary training program for young adults ages 16 to 24, run in partnership with the Melton Center and the Chester County Workforce Development Board.
