The Chester County History Center has added two new trustees to its board: Amy K. Groff of Downingtown and Martin T. Mrugal III of Philadelphia.

The History Center announced the appointments Tuesday, Sept. 1. Groff has spent more than 20 years at The Vanguard Group, where she serves as chief of staff for professional wealth analytics. Mrugal is CEO of Alchemer, an enterprise software company focused on customer intelligence and experience management.

The board now has 13 members.

"I believe that Amy and Marty's background in leadership and management will add the right type of insight we need to continue our important work," board President Holly Stoviak said in a statement.

Stoviak said the board's responsibility is making decisions that preserve Chester County's history and its collection of manuscripts, artifacts, photography and art.

At Vanguard, Groff has worked across digital analytics, wealth management and client experience. She earned an MBA from St. Joseph's University in 2023.

Mrugal has held executive roles over a 25-year career. He served as chief operating officer at Ellucian and chief customer officer at Citrix Systems. At SAP, he created the company's first global cross-portfolio customer success team. Mrugal earned a master of management degree from Penn State University, where he received the Academic Excellence Award, and completed INSEAD's Global Leadership Development Program in Fontainebleau, France.

The History Center, founded in 1893, sits at 225 N. High St. in West Chester. Its 56,000-square-foot complex houses more than 80,000 artifacts, 500,000 manuscripts and 80,000 photographs dating to the 1840s.
