Democratic Rep. Chris Pielli held a 10,255-vote advantage over Republican Kris R. Vollrath in Pennsylvania’s 156th House District in the latest unofficial returns checked Nov. 5.

The Chester County Board of Elections dashboard listed Pielli at 19,625 votes and Vollrath at 9,370, with 28 write-ins. The county’s percentages were 67.62% and 32.28%.

Those counts replace earlier election-night figures of 18,080 and 9,019. The Department of State’s returns showed the same candidate totals, with percentages calculated from the listed candidates rather than the county’s write-in-inclusive total.

Pielli’s background

Pielli has represented District 156 since the 2023 legislative term. Before joining the House, he served as a West Goshen Township supervisor and Chester County recorder of deeds, according to the Pennsylvania House Archives.

The official biography also records his service in the Army and Army Reserve, work as a corrections officer and counselor at Chester County Prison, and subsequent legal career. He earned undergraduate and law degrees at Temple University.

Other area contests

In District 13, Democrat Madelyn Alvarino led Republican Rep. John Lawrence 13,737 to 13,127, a 610-vote margin. In District 74, Democratic Rep. Dan Williams led Republican Lorenzo Kelley 14,666 to 8,172.

In Senate District 44, the state’s districtwide count showed Democratic Sen. Katie Muth with 77,154 votes to Republican Melissa Dicranian’s 42,976. That race includes territory outside Chester County, so its full totals should not be compared with county-only figures.

All figures remain unofficial. The county’s election notice says official computation of the general-election and provisional votes begins Nov. 6. A fully reporting precinct indicator does not by itself establish certification or completion of every ballot review.
