The Chester County District Attorney's Office is assisting Tredyffrin Township police in investigating an early-morning burglary at Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley's home near Malvern, where intruders entered the residence while Barkley and his family were inside.
Officers responded around 5 a.m. on Sunday to a burglary-in-progress call at the home, according to Tredyffrin Township police. The suspects had fled before police arrived.
No one in the home was physically injured.
"All of the occupants in the home were physically OK, obviously a little unsettled as anybody would be, but nobody was harmed," Capt. Tyler Moyer of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department told reporters after the incident.
Investigators believe nothing was taken from the home, though that determination had not been finalized as of Monday, according to NBC Philadelphia. Police are searching for at least two suspects but said the full number involved remains unclear.
White GMC Yukon sought
Detectives released a photo of a white GMC Yukon captured on security footage near the home. Police said more than one vehicle may have been used.
The Tredyffrin Township Detective Division is leading the case with assistance from the Chester County DA's office. District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe commented publicly on Monday, calling Barkley "a victim of a crime" and urging the public to "be thankful he's safe," according to FOX29 Philadelphia.
The DA's office issued a statement on Sunday asking residents in the Malvern area to check home security and doorbell camera footage for suspicious activity around 5 a.m. that morning and to contact police with any information.

Tredyffrin Township police said they will coordinate with federal authorities to determine whether the break-in is connected to organized theft groups that have targeted professional athletes across the country.
"We know there's more than one, but we're still trying to determine how many were involved," Moyer said of the suspects.
