The Chester County History Center will fill its galleries with decorated trees, twinkling lights and festive displays starting Wednesday, Dec. 2, giving West Chester families a month-long holiday destination.
The display, called Season of Lights, runs through Saturday, Jan. 2, 2027, according to the History Center's event listing. Visitors can walk through 300 years of Chester County history while taking in the seasonal decorations spread across the museum's galleries.
The History Center described the event as "a celebration for all community members to share in the warmth of the holiday season," noting that Chester County's community "brings together a multitude of cultures, traditions, and heritages."
Season of Lights is included with regular museum admission: $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children and students. The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
The event is not new to the History Center. The Rotary Club of West Chester has written about participating in a prior Season of Lights, describing roughly 30 trees decorated by area organizations throughout the galleries. Club members Glen Sweet, Phyllis Dunn and Sue Casso Rogers handled the decorating of the Rotary's "Around the World" tree, which featured club banners traded with Rotary chapters in other countries.
Whether this year's event will again include community-decorated trees has not been announced.
The Chester County History Center is located at 225 N. High St. in West Chester. More information is available at mycchc.org.
