West Chester's East Side Little League is going to the Little League World Series.

The team defeated Naamans Little League of Wilmington, Delaware, 3-1 on Friday, Aug. 14, in the Mid-Atlantic Regional championship in Bristol, Connecticut, according to the West Chester Chronicle, completing a perfect 3-0 run through the tournament and earning the program's first-ever trip to Williamsport.

Pitchers Cole Warner and Ryan Donnelly combined on the mound in the championship game, according to PhillyBurbs, with Warner also providing pop at the plate throughout the regional tournament. East Side outscored its three opponents 21-2 across the bracket.

The regional run started with an 8-1 win over Naamans on Sunday, Aug. 9, followed by a 10-0 shutout of Washington, D.C.'s Mamie Johnson Little League on Tuesday, Aug. 11. The rematch with Naamans in the championship was the closest game East Side faced all tournament.

East Side survived five elimination games during the Pennsylvania state tournament before reaching the regional, according to Little League International's team profile. The organization described the squad as having built "an identity defined by resilience" through that gauntlet.

East Side's trip marks the fourth consecutive year a team from the Philadelphia region has represented the Mid-Atlantic at the LLWS. But this is the first time a West Chester squad has made it.

The 2026 Little League Baseball World Series opened Wednesday, Aug. 19, in South Williamsport, with 20 teams competing through Sunday, Aug. 30. Games air on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC. East Side takes the field Friday, Aug. 21, at 7 p.m. at Lamade Stadium against the winner of the Wednesday, Aug. 19, game between Bayonne, New Jersey, and Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

West Chester sits roughly three hours from Williamsport by car, and PhillyBurbs reported the team is expected to draw a large local following at the tournament.

The last Pennsylvania team to win the Little League World Series was Levittown in 1960.
