Plans for a propane transfer facility off Phoenixville Pike in West Goshen Township passed the township's zoning review.
"Based on our review, the plans are compliant," Zoning Officer Shelby Smith said, as Hello, West Chester first reported in its Oct. 5 roundup.
Smith did not identify the developer or describe the facility's size. No construction timeline, site plan details, or public hearing schedule appears in township records. West Goshen's industrial zoning code permits production, processing, storage and distribution of materials and goods, which would cover a propane operation.
The township is separately updating its zoning ordinance for the first time since 1972. The Board of Supervisors authorized the proposed update for public review at its June 16 meeting, according to township records. A public hearing date has not been set.
Whether the propane facility will require board action or can proceed administratively has not been disclosed.
Gay Street poll puts High Street intersection at the top
In West Chester Borough, a reader poll by Hello, West Chester found that fixing the intersection at High and Gay streets is the top priority among planned 2027 improvements to Gay Street. The fix drew just over 43% of the vote, ahead of more in-street events and improved signage and aesthetics.
The Gay Street pedestrian closure wrapped up its 2026 season the last weekend of September. On social media, residents weighed in with specific complaints and requests.
Mike Rody: "Ugly and sunken bricks are a walking hazard."
Elizabeth Leitch: "More trash cans. Larger trash cans. Anything to keep the trash at bay on a weekend."
Parking also ranked high among social media responses, along with keeping the street open during bad weather.
